【国际交流】“文化沁润,情暖立冬”——记外教参加书院社区第四届立冬饺子节活动

立冬是中国传统二十四节气之一,为了让外教们亲身感受中国传统文化的魅力,充分地理解我校书院“家文化”,更好地融入移通这个大家庭,留校外教Clive、Elias在大学生国际交流协会部分成员的带领下参加了由鱼城书院和北山书院联合举办的书院社区第四届“天涯海饺,缘聚移通”饺子节。

外教们一直都对中国的传统文化有着浓厚的兴趣,饺子原名“娇耳”,距今已有八百多年的历史,在北方,每年农历冬至这天,不论贫富,饺子是必不可少的节日饭。一碗热腾腾的饺子在冬至带给家人的不仅仅是温饱,更是暖心的祝福与寄托。在了解了饺子的由来之后,外教们表示中国博大精深的传统文化让他们心生向往,希望同学们能多为他们讲解中国的传统文化。

悠悠饺子情,饺子是一种“家文化”的象征,现场其乐融融的氛围感染着在场的每一个人,大学生国际交流协会的成员与外教在现场工作人员的引导下入座,在一切准备工作完成之后,大家纷纷开始包饺子,外教也跃跃欲试,同学们互相沟通自己熟悉的包饺子方法,并悉心的为外教讲解包饺子的方法和小技巧,一个又一个饺子在外教和同学们的手中诞生,饺子的形状各式各样,外教看着自己因不熟练包出来奇形怪状的饺子忍俊不禁。

在外教和同学们的共同努力下,热腾腾的饺子很快就来到了大家面前。两位外教迫不及待地品尝自己包的饺子,饺子搭配着同学们调制的秘制蘸料,在入口的那一刻满足感在每个人心中迸发,大家互相分享自己的劳动成果并交流自己的心得体会,快乐在互相传递,每个人的脸上都洋溢着幸福的笑容,仿佛冬日的寒冷已经被全部驱散剩下的全是温暖,也让外教在这个寒冬在移通感受到了家的温暖。

饺子不仅是一种美食,更是中国传统饮食文化的传承。外教和同学们吃下的每一个饺子都代表了大家对这个特殊日子的情感寄托,也包含着中华民族的浓浓情意,也是我校书院“家文化”的内涵所在,更是书院国际化的一种体现。文化的浸润带给了同学们不一样的体验,外教们对中国的传统文化也有了更深刻的了解。此次活动不仅有助于外教融入我国传统文化和我校的书院文化,也为我校书院文化增添了国际化色彩。

外教参与活动感受:

Today's activity, arranged by Shu Yuan at our University's canteen was an interesting inter-cultural experience for me; meeting a fellow foreign teacher (yet again), while being surrounded by all these kind students, really gave me an insight into the aspect of the whole family coming together and making Jiaozi during important traditional holidays in China.

Especially with the sun coming out it's a great start for this coming weekend and the soon-to-follow winter season. It was a nice change, as a teacher, becoming the student in a kind of "cooking class", being taught how to make Chinese dumplings - in different ways. And, of course, it was delicious, too. For me personally, Jiaozi are always linked to my first impression of China, when I first came here as an international student, so this kind of experience always takes me back... and, generally speaking, I believe, Chinese culture is somewhat intertwined with food culture: Always a good way to get to know new, friendly people and, returning to China, to feel "at home - away from home". Thank you so much to Shu Yuan!

On Saturday we attended a dumpling-making and cooking festival in the Yitong canteen. When I entered the canteen I was impressed by the slick organisation of the areas and tables which were designated for the event. This also included the many student workers who were on-hand to help and direct to ensure everything went well.When I saw the huge steel bowl full of onion, lettuce, cabbage and meat being mixed by hand I knew we were in for a real treat of dumpling mania! I was fortunate to be taught to make the dumplings and aided by wonderful and so-talented students.Everything, from the two hosts, the teaching video, the students and the great atmosphere served to make this deightful event very special!! Thank you everyone!!
